  • Thanks for the question, Voter….

Public Education in general has morphed from a societal institution devoted to instruction and enlightenment of our children, into a politically-driven, self-absorbed bureaucracy bent on enriching its participants beyond all reason.

This is because no education official seems to be able, or willing to identify the plainly ridiculous games being played on a swindled public. I am….

Example? Major school districts in Texas creating and maintaining a one-to-one teacher/administrator ratio. Another? The cynical destruction of the TAKS system for the sake of reducing accountability for gross failures of the system. I could go on and on.

How do you fix these problems? Redirect the billions of dollars wasted on Public Education into where it is needed most….the classroom.

JD, You are a tremendously valued newsman, informer, and talk show host! Your information and lead in getting the average person visibility in our election process is like a spring of fresh water on a hot day!

I appreciate your site and efforts with the ‘Who’s Next Project”! The interviews are a great way to get started to know the folks. It would be handy to have a link to the interview if they are archived. It would also be very helpful to have a compiled bio for each candidate after they have interviewed.

Listening to you the other day, I had the thought that we should organize a mash-up of the following ideas: 1. whos next project 2. fantasy football 3. american idol 4. social networking. Merge and mash these themes together to gain an informative view of each elected office’s candidates.

With efforts like yours, we are sure to re-instate ‘Statesmen’ to our elected offices!

My hat is off to you! Keep up the great service!

JD, could you tell us more about your thoughts on being on the School Board of Education? What do you feel is the role of the State Board and the office for which your are running? What powers will you have (to make changes) and what changes do you want to make?

    Thanks!
